August is present
hot and fire. On 4thand 5th August in Changjiang
foundry, the hot red iron water was pouring into moulding and the operators
were busy on their works. In Nearby quiet room, many world-class customers were
critical listening the speech about casting technology.
The above description is a microcosm of “the second phase of casting
knowledge communication activity” organized by Changjian Foundry. Customers are
mainly from KUKA, KSB, Johnson Controls – Hitachi, Kinematics, Pall, Kawasaki
Robotics, Taiheiyo Seiki, and world’s leading wind power transmission equipment
manufacturer NGC. Here we would like to introduce you more about this activity,
and we are looking forward to seeing you at the next one.
The activity was held
in the multimedia room at 1 pm on Aug 4th. Mr. Jinfu Mao, the
marketing manager of Changjian Foundry, began with a brief presentation of our
company, including company profile, products and equipment introduction,
corporate planning and culture.
Then, Mr. Xudong Gong, the vice-general manager of Changjian Foundry,
gave a presentation on casting knowledge, covering the origin of casting to the
current casting development, the classification of casting type, the casting
process, the definitions of gray and ductile casting iron, and etc. Mr. Gong
brought us to the casting world by presentation, showing videos and animation,
and sketching.
The time came to 4 PM, the visitors and the vice-general manager Mr. Gong have a communication and mutual learning regarding casting. After a short break, the guests went to Crown International Exhibition Hotel for check-in and dining.
The visitors gathered and headed to Changjian Foundry from the hotel at 7:50 AM next day. The activity continued at 8:30 AM. First, quality manager Mr. Tao Wan gave a presentation on casting knowledge, covering casting process control, casting defect as well as its solutions. Mr. Wan illustrated how the casting defect occurs and the control methods. The visitors were encouraged to ask questions and communicate in a warm and friendly atmosphere.
On-site workshop visit at half of 9 AM was a moment the visitors greatly looked forward to. Many guests were on their first visit to Changjian Foundry, and they were eager to have a deep understanding of how casting workshop works and how to control and monitor the casting quality. Each colleague guided 5 to 8 guests to our workshop, described by photos as follows.

After visiting the workshop at 11 AM, the visitors went back to the multimedia room and raised new questions. The vice-general manager Mr. Gong answered the questions one by one. At last, some representatives of the visitors shared their feeling with each other during these two days. They thanked Changjian Foundry for organizing this activity, which helped them have a better understanding of casting, made new friends, and knew Changjian’s spirit of commitment, opening, and enterprising. They also showed their great interest for the similar activities in the near future.
